Get Tax Relief Now

The Colorado tax professionals and attorneys of the Business Law Group are experienced in representing individual and business clients in all types of tax resolution matters. The IRS wields tremendous power over our lives and businesses, without the oversight and protections that a court of law may provide. The Colorado Department of Revenue is relentless in its enforcement of state tax laws.  Both the federal and state governments can audit your returns and assess deficiencies, interest, and penalties, leaving you struggling to meet your obligations.

Our Tax Team

Adam L Weitzel, J.D., LL.M.

After graduating from law school, Adam Weitzel, a Colorado Springs tax attorney, completed an advanced law degree (LL.M.) in tax law from Georgetown University. Because of the expense and effort it requires to obtain an LL.M., it’s not common to find them outside of the bigger law firms.

After graduation, his initial work focused on sophisticated tax matters with large law firms. Adam continues that same sophisticated tax work with the Business Law Group.

Brad S. Monson, J.D., M.A. (Accountancy)

In addition to his law degree, Brad Monson, a Colorado Springs tax attorney, earned both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in accounting from the Marriott School of Management at Brigham Young University, one of the top accounting programs in the country. After graduation, Brad practiced as a senior tax associate in the Denver office of a “Big Four” accounting firm, where he advised clients on corporate tax matters.

Brad S. Monson is an experienced and highly educated tax professional, capable of providing the highest level of tax and business law advice, combined with common sense and practical insight.

Katrina Ruff, EA

By receiving the highest credential awarded by the IRS, certification as an Enrolled Agent, Katrina Ruff proved her mastery of tax laws and principles.

Her experience with navigating a variety of tax issues with the IRS and State Departments of Revenue, including relief from trust fund recovery penalties, releasing tax levies and tax liens, negotiating Installment Agreements and Offers in Compromise, relief from wage garnishments, and refunds of funds improperly paid to the IRS and State Departments of Revenue has provided her with a strong record of successfully applying tax laws and principles. Her extensive experience in these areas enables her to provide the highest level of personalized representation for business and individual taxpayers to successfully resolve complex tax controversies and audits before the IRS and State Departments of Revenue.

Christian Osterhout, J.D.

With a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Colorado Christian University and additional tax-focused coursework at the University of Oklahoma College of Law, Christian Osterhout possesses a comprehensive understanding of tax principles.

After graduation, his experience in tax and audit practice within Denver Metro Area accounting firms led to his ability to resolve tax issues across different tax domains, including addressing sales tax matters with the State Department of Revenue or assisting clients in income tax controversies with the IRS. He later pursued and now holds a license to practice in Tax Court. Christian demonstrates the practical application of his academic knowledge and his ability to navigate complex tax issues and represent clients effectively.
