Registered Agent Services

At Business Law Group, we empower your business journey from foundation to future.

Trusted Support for Your Business Compliance Needs

At Business Law Group, we serve as your registered agent in Colorado, a required role for most corporations, LLCs, and other formally registered business entities. We help you stay compliant with state law, receive important legal documents promptly, and protect your business from missing critical notices.

What Is a Registered Agent?

A registered agent is the official contact the State of Colorado uses to send legal and state communications on behalf of your business. The registered agent must have a physical Colorado street address where they can receive documents in person, and they must consent to serve in that role.

This requirement exists so that lawsuits, subpoenas, garnishments, government correspondence, annual report notices, and other important documents can be reliably delivered.

Who Can Serve as a Registered Agent in Colorado?

Colorado law allows either an individual or a business entity to serve as a registered agent:

Individual Agent Requirements:

  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Must have a physical Colorado residence or usual place of business in the state.
  • Must hold a current, valid Colorado driver’s license or ID card, or verify residency through an alternative process.

Business Entity Agent Requirements:

  • Must be in good standing with the Colorado Secretary of State.
  • Must have a usual place of business in Colorado.
  • Foreign entities (formed outside Colorado) must also be authorized to do business in Colorado.

What a Registered Agent Does

As your registered agent, Business Law Group will:

  • List our firm as your registered agent with the Colorado Secretary of State, using our physical office address as required by law.
  • Receive legal documents and official notices on your behalf during normal business hours and promptly forward them to you using the contact information you provide.
  • Scan and forward any mail or official correspondence we receive for your business.
  • Discard obvious junk mail so you only receive what matters.
  • File your required annual Periodic Report with the Colorado Secretary of State.

Colorado law requires registered agents to have a physical street address — not a PO Box — so documents can be delivered in person if necessary.
