Biography
Katrina is the first employee of the Business Law Group. She began her career with the firm as Adam’s paralegal and the office manager. As more professionals joined the team over the years, she became the Firm Manager and also continued working as a paralegal supporting multiple attorneys.
While working as a paralegal, Katrina assisted attorneys in each of the firm’s practice areas, but found that her passion is in tax law. She embraced her passion and took time off to independently study for and pass the examinations required to earn her Enrolled Agent credential from the Internal Revenue Service.
By becoming an Enrolled Agent, Katrina achieved the highest credential offered by the Internal Revenue Service. Since the Internal Revenue Service is a federal authority, as an Enrolled Agent Katrina is able to represent taxpayers for any tax matter before the Internal Revenue Service, and before taxing authorities in all 50 states.
Katrina does not prepare any tax returns and dedicates her time in the office to resolving tax problems and responding to tax notices. She loves helping ease her clients’ burdens and the stress that comes from dealing with the Internal Revenue Service and state tax authorities. This helps make things a little easier and allows them to focus on what?s important.
Katrina is a compassionate representative who passionately advocates for each client. She supports each taxpayer she represents through the emotional roller coaster of complex tax issues by navigating the confusion of tax laws and tax forms to negotiate the best resolution legally possible based on their unique circumstances.
Katrina’s representation and strategies are tailored specifically to the needs and circumstances of each client. She values each client and analyzes the unique circumstances involved in each situation so she can humanize them to the taxing authorities. Taxes may be numbers on a page, but taxpayers are real people with real life situations that occasionally interfere with taxes. Katrina strives to share their stories to effectively resolve certain tax issues.
By advocating and negotiating directly with the taxing authorities, Katrina becomes the direct point of contact with the Internal Revenue Service and state taxing authorities. Except for very few, and uncommon situations, Katrina is able to communicate with the Internal Revenue Service and state taxing authorities and her clients do not have to interact with tax agents. This helps make the resolution process more efficient, less confusing, and less stressful.
Katrina represents business and individual taxpayers. She has represented numerous taxpayers throughout the world during her career. She has successfully negotiated various resolution agreements including, but not limited to, Installment Agreements, Offers in Compromise, relief from penalties and resulting interest, relief from and release of various liens, levies, and garnishments, and has also successfully advocated for taxpayers during complex audits.
Katrina stands up to taxing authorities and does not shy away from a good fight with them in the interest of advocating for her clients.
