Biography:

Mark R. Brownlee is a Litigation Paralegal at Business Law Group.  Mr. Brownlee began working for us in February of 2022.  He was interested in Business Law Group because of the nature of the work done here.  Prior to joining Business Law Group, Mr. Brownlee worked as a District Court Paralegal for the Fourth Judicial District Attorney’s Office in El Paso County.  During his time at the District Attorney’s Office he worked on over 100 cases, 3 of which were homicides.

Additionally, Mr. Brownlee is an Honorably Discharged Veteran (Staff Sergeant) of The United States Air Force.  He completed Basic Military Training at Joint Base Lackland, TX (December 2012 – February 2013).  While serving in the Air force for 8 years he was stationed at Joint Base Anacostia Bolling, Washington D.C. (February 2013 – May 2016), Peterson Space Force, CO (May 2016 – September 2018), Incirlik Air Base, Adana, Turkey (September 2018 – July 2019), and Schriever Space Force Base, CO (July 2019 – January 2021).  Mr. Brownlee began his military service in Washington D.C. where he was a Ceremonial Guardsman for the United States Air Force Honor Guard.  This job required extreme attention to detail and military bearing while completing official ceremonial duties in the National Capital Region to include Military Full Honors Funerals in Arlington National Cemetery.  During this time he worked as a Technical Training School Instructor for the Honor Guard and Firing Party member performing the three-round volley.  Upon his completion of his Honor Guard tour, Mr. Brownlee attended Paralegal Technical Training in Montgomery, AL in 2016 where he earned his Paralegal Certificate from the American Bar Association.  At his first duty station as a Paralegal, Mr. Brownlee was the case paralegal on 22 Court-Martials and over 150 Non-Judicial Punishments (Article 15).  Mr. Brownlee, while stationed in Turkey, was able to assist in important legal matters pertaining to Operation Inherent Resolve that assisted the warfighter in operations downrange.

When he returned from his tour overseas, he was stationed at Schriever Space Force Base where he was the Non-Commissioned Officer in charge of Military Justice (responsible for overseeing the function of all Court-Martials, Non-Judicial Punishments, and Administrative Discharges).  Mr. Brownlee chose to stay in Colorado Springs upon his separation from The United States Air Force due to his ties with the community and the roots that he was laid here with his daughter, Lily.

When he is not working, Mr. Brownlee enjoys spending quality time with his daughter, helping with his church community, playing/creating music, and hiking in various places across the beautiful state of Colorado.  Furthermore, he is the Worship/Creative Arts Director at Life Chapel here locally in Colorado Springs, where he has been on staff for 1 year and attended for 6 years.  Prior to the military, Mr. Brownlee lived in Spartanburg, SC for 20 years.
