Katrina Ruff

Firm Manager and Tax Paralegal

Katrina began her career in the legal field in 2007 and has been managing the firm since 2013. Katrina graduated with a B.S. in Political Science and a Paralegal Certificate from California State University Chico in 2007.

Katrina is a perfectionist who strives to ensure the firm’s client-centric expectations are surpassed and that the highest level of client service and work product is provided to every individual and business client.

Katrina was previously a ballet dancer for 17 years, and was also a ballet instructor for 8 years. Since that time, she has married and has been blessed with a wonderful family.

Molly Smouse

Litigation Paralegal

Molly began her legal adventure in the Orange County, California Superior Court – first for speeding as a 16-year-old with a lead foot, but ultimately as a litigation paralegal. Since moving to Colorado, she has touched upon other fields of law, including Probate and Estate Planning, Family Law, and a bit of Criminal Law. However, her expertise and knowledge lie squarely within Business Litigation, Corporate Law, and Real Estate Law.

Molly’s efficiency and attention to detail are second to none and complement the products and services our firm has to offer.

Molly enjoys the slower pace of living in the mountains west of Colorado Springs with her husband, who is a Manitou High School graduate. She has two grown sons who live in the area and a five-year-old grandson who keeps her on the run. Molly enjoys gardening, reading, crocheting, hiking, trying to beat the games of chance in Cripple Creek, and watching Broncos football.

Kaitlyn Burch

Executive Assistant and Billing Manager

Kaitlyn is a local graduate and began working in retail until joining the Business Law Group in 2016. She is dedicated to bringing a fun, yet professional, atmosphere to the office. She assists the team with taking incoming calls, coordinating appointments, processing billing, party planning, and other administrative tasks.

With a strong customer service background, Kaitlyn makes each of our clients feel welcome and appreciated.

Kaitlyn and her husband are both Florida natives and love to travel and explore the great state of Colorado. In her spare time, she enjoys home decorating, geeking out over anything Star Wars, and eating as much pizza as she can get.

Darlene Hoff

Legal Assistant

Darlene is a transplanted Ohio Buckeye with an affinity for numbers. This former bank Vice President moved to Colorado Springs with her family where she worked from home in customer service until her two daughters graduated high school. With a Colorado Real Estate license and experience working for a local Financial Planner, she joined our firm in 2018 and brings her interest in numbers to the tax and corporate side of the Business Law Group.

With her creative problem-solving skills and desire to drive projects to completion, Darlene is thoroughly devoted to each client and their specific needs.

Darlene and her husband never tire of camping in Colorado’s mountains. She fills her need for creativity by constantly being in the middle of multiple sewing projects and hosting parties with friends.

Elise Weitzel

Receptionist and File Clerk

Elise is a Pikes Peak Community College student and plans to continue her education with the goal of earning an Associates in Biology. She runs a small business where she performs as various princesses for children’s parties.

Elise is driven to accommodate the needs of those around her and dedicated her efforts to making each client and strives to ensure they feel welcomed and appreciated. Within the office, she assists the team with greeting clients, processing paperwork, coordinating meetings, and other administrative tasks.

Elise loves every opportunity to teach others and is a certified instructor for the American Red Cross Association where she teaches CPR and Wilderness and Remote First Aid. Currently, Elise is undergoing training to be an EMR Instructor. She also enjoys archery and spending time with her family.
